Wow! We were bumming about missing last night’s PULSE in San Francisco with the legendary Green Nuns of the Revolution and Dutch. But then we discovered that DJ Anomaly’s in the Seattle area tonight at one of our favorite venues. I heart psytrance.
After spending almost a month in SF, we were both glad to get back to Washington. Our life is so different here: walks in the park and relaxing evenings with just the two of us at home as opposed to the fast-paced city life, socializing, and going out multiple times a week in the Bay Area. It’s a great balance …
It’s a pretty special weekend for us: 25 years since our first date. Who would have predicted? And at the risk of sounding like a broken record, it just keeps getting better and better. Tonight should be wonderful, and then we’ve got a scrumptious dinner planned for tomorrow. Can’t wait!

The visuals were great at The Atrium and so was the music, intense and driving. It got going a little after 10 and ramped down at 3:30 … we helped clean up and were home and in the hot tub by 4. I heart psytrance.
Today I’ve been taking it easy, and might go for a walk, then perhaps a nap before dinner. Hooray for relaxing weekends!

Wow what a week. Work was busy busy busy – plus, when worlds collide: lots of Save the Rave/privacy activism on Monday and Tuesday. We caught an early Wednesday evening darkwave set … tonight, more darkwave, and hopefully it’ll be dark and stompy again. I heart psytrance … and I heart darkness too 🙂

DJ Anomaly again. Swoon …
As well as 25 years since my first date with D, Monday the 11th marked five years since the launch of Ad Astra (Analysis and Development of Awesome STRAtegies), the last project I led at Microsoft. So it’s been a great time to reflect ….
Back in mid-2003 in Rationality’s not looking too good these days I wrote “Everything seems fractured. Work, psytrance, sex, political issues, imagination; they’re all important, they all intersect, but I just don’t see a holistic picture. Things have have broken into pieces with jagged edges.” Quite a contrast with now. Here’s how I described it in mid-February in DJ Anomaly at the party without a name:
Yeah really. This week featured another big grassroots activism win with Save the Rave, PrivacyActivism, EFF, BORDC, and others working together … and renewed on Changing the World and Making Friends Doing It. On the entrepreneurship front, the consensus opinion about the NWEN First Look Forum Shelley Whelan and I co-chaired was that it was the best one yet … and four of the five finalists (including the eventual winner) were women CEOs! And transformation was a big theme as well as in a business meeting at the Harbor Club in Bellevue …
Yay synthesis! Yay transformation!
So between activism, NWEN, and qweries, I’ve been working hard but not killing myself — and still taking lots of time to have fun, hang out with friends, and get sleep. And the universe has been aligning. Life is good.
So tonight, it’ll be a great time. Choosing desire over fear, trusting my intuition, trying not to analyze things too much, falling through the limitations of intelligence into pure and simple creativity, bringing inner ecstasy back into my consciousness, having more art, beauty, and fun in our lives, spending more time with women — and in particular the women I love and the goddesses I know … what’s not to like?
I heart psytrance
